Plating Processes

Satin Nickel, Electroless Nickel,
Black Nickel, and new ANP
electroless nickel plating for
aluminum are ideal for
automotive applications.
CL Satin Nickel Plating – one of the most versatile
plating finishes ever, can produce parts consistently in
several different finish
appearances. By filtering one bath
component and replacing
it with a second, or third, or
combinations of these – the
grain structure is modified such
that different matte nickel appearances
can be plated.
This process has gained wide acceptance in the automotive
industry, with parts now supplied to the largest U.S. and
Japanese auto manufacturers. Uyemura
introduced
satin nickel plating to the North
American market.

Nickstar Black Nickel
– Nickstar – a black nickel technology that
deposits a thin, and highly uniform over-coat of black nickel-zinc alloy,
preserving the substrate's brightness while producing an
exceptionally rich black nickel finish.
|
|
NBB
Electroless Nickel
– this process is bright and robust
despite being free of lead and cadmium.
It is a mid-phos electroless
nickel process in the range of 6 to 8.
|
|
KTY
Electroless Nickel
– from the
research labs of Uyemura-Japan,
this process
is the world’s first “heavy metal–free” electroless
nickel.
This means automakers get the brightness and stability
they need in an
electroless nickel process that’s free of all heavy metals. |
|
ANP Electroless Nickel Plating for Aluminum
– Uyemura’s
electroless nickel plating for aluminum provides excellent
adhesion through at least six MTOs. The process does not employ
a strike and adds no additional steps compared to normal aluminum
preparation double zincating. The ANP electroless nickel process combines
Uyemura’s lead and cadmium-free electroless nickel with proprietary
cleaning, etching and zincating technologies.
formulations. |
|
Niphos
– electrolytic
nickel-phos systems that can replace
gold
plating for some electronic connectors
as the process offers such
good corrosion resistance. These processes
are available in
reel-reel (Niphos 965) and rack/barrel/vibratory
(Niphos 966)
formulations. |
|
Dialloy
– tin/zinc alloy process that
can produce 80/20 or 70/30
alloys. Provides good distribution,
weldability and solderability and
excellent corrosion protection for
iron and iron alloys. Ideal for
clamps, bolts, lock washers and other
fastener products.
A full line of Zinc
processes (ie, cyanide, alkaline no-cyanide,
and
chloride systems); and various colored
Chromate
and Trivalent
Conversion
Coatings are also available.
Our electronic processes are in wide
use throughout the automotive
industry. See “Printed
Circuit Industry” or
“Electronic
Products”.
